About Us

What we do
We exist to make the world a better place through the open exchange of art and ideas. Towards this end, scene sketches has three units: the photography gallery, a publishing arm and artist representation. We summarize each in turn.

scene sketches: the photography gallery
We gallery original photography by inspired contemporary artists, using technology to simplify the experience of discovering and buying art.

We believe the traditional art gallery model is inefficient. Inventory is costly and any one gallery can only afford to show so many works. Even if you trapse all over town, your ability to see art is limited by the number of galleries in your town. Worse, the Law of Big Numbers assures that the art you love most is probably in some distant city.

Shopping with scene sketches is different. We travel the world looking for emerging and established talent and provide you with a central way to puruse their work. We think you'll agree shopping online has its advantages.

scene sketches: publishing
We work closely with artists and expert craftspeople to publish a variety of photographic products. Our publishing range includes premium Art Cards, custom Prints, Ilfochromes, Digital Projects and special Books. If you have a need for quality photographic publishing, contact us today for more information.

scene sketches: artist representation

Of course, there will always be those who look only at technique, who ask "how," while others of a more curious nature will ask "why." Personally, I have always preferred
inspiration to information.
